OpenLife Nigeria reports that Obasi Emmanuel, the estranged husband of Nollywood actress Judy Austin, has publicly raised alarm over alleged death threats and a long-standing denial of access to his children.
He named Judy, her husband Yul Edochie, and Augusta Umuora as responsible should anything happen to him.
In a viral video shared widely online, Emmanuel said his life is in danger, claiming he has been receiving repeated threats from unknown individuals linked to the family.
He insisted he has done nothing wrong aside from marrying Judy and supporting her education a decision he now regrets because it preceded the breakdown of their marriage.
Emmanuel alleges that after their divorce, Judy cut him off entirely from their two children, refusing him contact or information about their wellbeing.
“I want the world to know that if anything happens to me, these three people should be held responsible,”
he said in the clip, adding that his only goal was to see his children again. He also wrote in a follow-up message: “My demand is for my children. Bring back my children.”
Emmanuel’s accusations come amid a long-running custody and personal dispute. He claims that Judy denied him access to their children for more than ten years since their divorce, describing the situation as tantamount to “kidnapping” because he has not seen them or received credible updates on their welfare. He also said he has sought redress through police, courts, and human rights offices, but his efforts have so far been unsuccessful.
