Nollywood Actress
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, has taken to social media with an urgent appeal to her fans, asking for assistance to remove her phone number from Facebook as she battles an overwhelming flood of messages from thousands of men.
The curvy screen star described her WhatsApp inbox as “blocked” with more than 5,000 men in my DM saying they want to marry me,” and admitted she has “no idea what video or post caused the sudden surge of attention.”
Renowned for her bold personality and unfiltered online persona, Nkechi made it emphatically clear that she is single but not actively seeking a relationship.
In her video message, she repeated her plea to admirers to stop contacting her and revealed that attempts to delete her number from Facebook have been unsuccessful. She stressed, “Please, I am single, but I am not searching, stop texting my number.”
In a follow‑up Instagram story that mixed humour with a firm warning, the actress threatened to block anyone attempting to trace her contact on Facebook, saying: “Do mistake find my number go Facebook, I go block you as you dey type! Bunch of hediots.”
EARLY LIFE, CAREER & RISING TO STARDOM
Born on February 14, 1989, in Surulere, Lagos State, Nkechi Blessing Sunday is a Nigerian actress, producer, director, and screenwriter. She began acting in 2008 and steadily built her career in both Yoruba-language films and mainstream Nollywood productions. Over the years, she has featured in notable movies such as Kafila Omo Ibadan and The Ghost and the Tout, and produced her own works under Nkechi Films Production.
Educated at Olu Abiodun Nursery and Primary School and Barachel Model College in Lagos, Nkechi also studied theatre arts at Lagos State University and International Relations at Houdegbe North American University, equipping her with both academic and practical grounding for her career.
CONTROVERSIES & VIRAL GYM FOOTAGE
Nkechi’s online presence has not been free of controversy. In 2025, a viral gym photo of Nkechi captured without her consent — spread widely across social media and drew harsh body-shaming comments. In response, she tracked down the person responsible and had the matter addressed legally. Nkechi defended her natural physique, saying, “This is who I have been. I wear clothes that make me feel comfortable. I am not trying to hide from anybody.”
This episode highlighted challenges celebrities face with privacy invasion and online ridicule, but it also demonstrated Nkechi’s refusal to be publicly shamed for her appearance.
RELATIONSHIP HISTORY: LOVE, LOSS & LESSONS
Nkechi Blessing has been open about the ups and downs of her romantic life — from high-profile partnerships to painful endings.
In 2021, she publicly tied the knot with Ekiti politician Opeyemi Falegan, but the marriage ended less than a year later amid disagreements. Despite earlier social media celebrations, the union dissolved in 2022.
Following that separation, Nkechi entered a relationship with social media personality Xxssive, a younger lover with whom she shared moments of affection online, including engagement rumours.
Their relationship ultimately ended, and in 2025, she confirmed she had been single since the previous year, stating there was no bad blood between them: “I have been single since last year… No bad blood between me and anybody, we are good.”
In past interviews, she has explained that some of her relationships were influenced by emotional reactions, including an earlier romance with Falegan which began as a rebound after a breakup with an American ex-boyfriend. This reflects her candid approach to discussing love and personal growth.
PERSONAL LIFE, CAREER IMPACT & FUTURE FOCUS
Aside from her romantic experiences, Nkechi is an active philanthropist and film production alongside her acting career. While her outspoken nature has sometimes cost her endorsement opportunities, she continues to maintain a strong online and cinematic presence.
Despite the recent deluge of messages, Nkechi Blessing insists she isn’t seeking a husband at the moment — a message she hopes her countless unsolicited suitors will finally take seriously.
