Be Careful Of Unknown Group
OpenLife Nigeria reports that in his continuous efforts to ensure that peace reigns in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos has offered clarifications the actions and activities of Concerned Stakeholders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a group he says, exists on the basis of discolouring genuine initiatives that will move Ndigbo forward
Recently, we heard about a group called Concerned Stakeholders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. Does such group exist?
You see, everything for Igbo man is business. Anyway, Lagos is a hustling ground. Anything can go.
There are few people who have contested positions in Ohanaeze Ndigbo and failed.
So, the only way they feel they can be relevant in Ohanaeze Ndigbo is to label themselves with such name called Concerned Stakeholders Ohanaeze Ndigbo. What is their job?
I started hearing this name about two months ago. From my investigations, we have seen that
their purpose is to use such name to confuse Chief John Mbata, the President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide just the same way they did to late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and succeeded.
However, this group could not penetrate late Professor George Obiozor just the same way they are not able to penetrate Chief Mbata with their gossip.
This group that labels themselves with this name today failed to penetrate late Obiozor because he was a complete diplomat and a man of integrity.
So, that means they have never played any vital role in Ohanaeze Ndigbo affairs?
How can a name that does not exist have effect? What they normally do is that during Ohanaeze Ndigbo election period like this, they would find one or two persons they are operating with in the national executive in Enugu to collaborate with and be extorting money from those who want to contest for positions especially aspirants who are interested in presidential office.
They will be going round, giving confidence to all the aspirants that they would win.
But my sincere joy is that they cannot use any trick to confuse Chief John Mbata who is a sound lawyer and a successful business man even if they call themselves Jesus club or son of God club.
Chief Mbata is ahead of such characters and that is why they are worried about his leadership.
For example, they even suggested to the learned lawyer to dissolve the administration of a legal president with a Consent Judgement including the illegal Ohanaeze group in Lagos and set up a committee that will conduct election and elect their own candidate to be the president.
How can you advise a sound lawyer to go against Consent Judgement?
With all my humility, I have already set up an electoral committee to conduct election and I will handover just to show that I love Ndigbo and to also prove that this set of people survive in crises by creating faction against any leadership in Ohanaeze that does not dance to their business-as-usual tune.
I have set up an electoral committee to conduct election. So, what else do they want? Some of them are still repeating their statements when the President General Worldwide’s position was zoned to Rivers State.
Some of these people who call themselves Concerned Stakeholders of Ohanaeze were complaining then about how Ndigbo could be considering given their heart to Ikwerre people especially one of their agents who is an executive in Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide.
The man has made a lot of money from them, promising them what is not possible.
I think the best this Concerned Stakeholders of Ohanaeze could have labeled themselves is Judas Iscariot club because there are people like Everest Ozonweke and Robert Obasi there whose nicknames are Judas Iscariot.
The question people should ask them is that what has Ohanaeze Ndigbo benefitted from that name called Concerned Stakeholders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo since they labled themselves with such name two months ago?
Secondly, where is their office located? They have made Ohanaeze Ndigbo letter head worthless by the way they make use of it.
It is just like someone frying okara on the street and using Nigeria’s coat of arm as his letter head logo including road side mechanic.
That is what they have turned Ohanaeze Ndigbo letter head paper into.
The only thing we have outside Ohanaeze Ndigbo is Ohanaeze Elders Council in Lagos. They are under the president.
Then, we have Ohanaeze executives, chairmen, youth wing, women wing and some sub committees, all still under the president.
There is nothing like Concerned Stakeholders in Ohanaeze. I am the president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos and I know better. Once you become a president, it is either you are a current president or former.
As of today, no matter how you may have read history, you cannot claim to now Nigeria better than President Tinubu. So, the letters they are writing to different offices with the name Concerned stakeholders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo are null and void. I therefore, advice recipients of letters from the group to be careful in responding.
