OpenLife Nigeria reports that sexual harassment in the ministry of Foreign Affairs has attracted the attention of the Head of Service of the federation.

According to the story earlier published in Vanguard newspaper, Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has written a letter to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, HoS, over allegation of sexual assault on Mrs Simisola Fajemirokun Ajayi by the Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Ibrahim Lamuwa.

In the letter dated 27TH May, 2024, sighted by Vanguard, Ambassador Tuggar noted that he was forced to lodged an official complaint against the Permanent Secretary, saying that Ibrahim Lamuwa has been harassing female staff of the ministry.

In the letter titled; ‘RE: OFFICIAL COMPLAINT REGARDING SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF MRS SIMISOLA FAJEMIROKUN AJAYI BY AMBASSADOR IBRAHIM ADAMU LAMUWA (PERMANENT SECRETARY MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS)”, Tuggar offered to assist in the investigation, advising the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation to handle the matter accordingly.
