40 Days To Handover

OpenLife Nigeria reports that curiosity broke out in Cross River State Wednesday when, on the directive of governor Ben Ayade, the secretary to the State government, Barrister Banku Agbor, issued a memo directing commissioners, special advisers to show up in his office for the issuance of appointment letters.

This is happening with only 40 days to go and Governor Ayade created a new Ministry and appointed new Commissioner. It is unclear why Governor Ayade created a new ministry weeks before leaving office.
This is happening after other Commissioners and special advisers have about 40 days to vacate office having served for almost four years.
According to the letter dated April 19 and titled “Processing and Issuance of appointment letters,” the issuance of the appointment letters would begin on Wednesday, April 26 and ends on Wednesday , May 3 for different categories of appointees
The letter which however raised speculations on the basis of Ayade’s intention is reproduced below
