Zamfara Commissioner, Usman Nagogo, launches Community Policing Advisory Committee

Zamfara State Police Commissioner, Usman Nagogo, has inaugurated local government community policing   advisory committee, LGCPAC,  in respect of Gummi Local Government Area  at the Palace of Gummi Emir.

It would be recalled that Zamfara State was one of  the first to inaugurate  the state Community Policing Advisory Committee on the 25th March, 2020 by His Excellency Dr Mohammed Bello Matawalle MON.

A statement signed by Superintendent  Mohammed Shehu, Police Public Relations Officer of the Command stated that in continuation with the inauguration exercise, Usman Nagogo, on Thursday, June 3, launched the Local Government Community Policing Advisory Committee

The eight  member Committee was inaugurated as part of the strategies of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed A. Adamu to employ an all inclusive way in addressing the security challenges in Zamfara State through engagement and consultation with members of the public, an initiative that has worked in Zamfara State.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by  HRH Justice Lawal Hassan Gummi (OFR) Emir of Gummi, Commissioner for security and Home affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Dauran, Commandant NSCDC, Representatives of State Director Security (DSS), Gummi LG Chairman among others.

The Commissioner of Police, in his address, congratulated the committee members for their appointment and further reiterated the mission and vision of the Inspector General of Police regarding the programme.

In his response, the Emir of Gummi expressed happiness for choosing Gummi to be the first LG where the launching of this Committee kick-started. He further thanked the Inspector General of Police for the   wonderful initiative. He promised to justify the confidence reposed on them.

The programme was conducted peacefully and will be continued in other Local Government Areas.
