Yul Edochie Breaks Silence On Marriage To Judy Austin: “I’m A Man, It’s My Choice”

Yul Edochie Breaks Silence On Marriage To Judy Austin: “I’m A Man, It’s My Choice”

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has finally addressed the controversy surrounding his marriage to actress Judy Austin, putting the record straight and asserting his independence.

The actor made it clear that his personal life is entirely his own business.

“I’m a man, my marriage to Judy Austin is my business, not my father’s,” Yul declared, emphasizing that his decisions are guided by his own judgment, not anyone else’s.

The drama traces back to Yul’s previous marriage to May Edochie, with whom he shares four children.

The couple had enjoyed a seemingly strong and enduring marriage for many years, but the revelation of Yul’s relationship with Judy Austin changed everything.

The announcement of their union and the birth of their child reportedly created tension and contributed to the eventual breakdown of his marriage with May.

Despite the upheaval, Yul has made it clear that love and respect for his family remain central to his values. Speaking about his father, veteran actor Pete Edochie, Yul said:

“Pete Edochie is my father, I love him so much as my father, he can never get me angry. I can never be angry with him for whatsoever he says to me.”

He added: “I do whatsoever I want to do for him and I go away, I’m not moved by any word he said to me. I know he is not perfect but I love him. Even if he ask me to kneel down at this my age, I will because he is someone I love and respect so much.”

Yul also reinforced his stance on personal agency:

“So, whatever he says, he is entitled to it. At this age, my problem cannot be what my father thinks about my personal decision. I should be able to do what is good for me without having to explain to anyone.

Really men don’t explain or complain, you face it. So, why he said that is his business, how it makes me feel absolutely nothing.”

This statement marks a clear declaration of independence and responsibility, showing that Yul is ready to navigate his life on his own terms while balancing love, respect, and public scrutiny. His marriage to Judy Austin, though controversial, is a testament to his personal choice and autonomy.
