Yobe NUJ Chairman, Comrade Rajab Mohammed, Tasks Army On Media Relations

<p><em>Yobe NUJ Chairman charges Army to consolidate media relations<&sol;em><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that the Yobe State Chapter Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists&comma; NUJ&comma; Comrade Rajab Mohammed&comma; has tasked the Nigerian Army to consolidate and strengthen its relationship with the media in the overall struggle against crime and insurgency&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Rajab Mohammed gave this charge while on a courtesy visits to the Commander Sector 2 <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchng&period;com&sol;">Operation Lafiya Dole<&sol;a>&comma; Brig&period; Gen&period; Adam Nura in Damaturu&comma; recently&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;In a report by Hamisu Ado Nguru&comma; Team Leader&comma; Yobe Chapter of the National Association of Online Security Reporters&comma; NAOSRE&comma; Rajab Mohammed commended the military for dislodging Boko Haram elements that hitherto occupied villages and towns in Yobe State&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The <strong>Yobe<&sol;strong> NUJ Chairman  called on the Army to establish a good working relationship with the press for professional education of citizens on the effective counter-insurgency operations in the Northeast&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He also intimated the commander on the intention of the NUJ in collaboration with the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria to organize a media game intended towards peace building in the state&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Responding&comma; the Commander informed the chairman that the military does not compromise in their operations especially when it touches on National Security&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Nura added that&comma; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;There are times that you journalist tell us that you are reporting for public interest&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&&num;8220&semi;We the military are knowledgeable enough to understand certain issues of <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wsj&period;com">public interest<&sol;a>&comma; but when it comes to national security&comma; we do not compromise&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&&num;8220&semi;In fact&comma; nobody has any reason to support terrorism and the army with all its resources will clamp down on such an individual or group&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&&num;8221&semi; Journalists all over the globe are dependable ally to the military successes&comma;” he emphasized&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Army commander commended journalists for their role in informing the people about the ongoing fight against Boko Haram in the North East region<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
