The information available to OpenLife Nigeria indicates that worshippers at the Lord’s Chosen Renewal Charismatic Ministries International are currently complaining, with some reportedly threatening to dump the church if the Pastor does not reconsider some of his decisions.
The complaints, this online medium gathers, stem from economic and spiritual considerations wherein Mgbidi residents are said to have written a strongly worded letter to Pastor Muoka, complaining about the decision to host his annual Mgbidi Crusade in Lagos as against Mgbidi.
OpenLife learned further that the residents requested the popular Pastor to return the annual crusade to the local government in Oru West of Imo State.
According to them, the yearly spiritual gathering is a veritable source of economic uplift and spiritual refill to the entire community.
They, therefore, cannot understand the reason the community should be denied such hefty economic advantage given that the annual event is named after their community which also has an affinity with Pastor Muoka.
However, findings reveal that Mgbidi comprises Oru West and Oru East Local Government Areas of Imo State in southeastern Nigeria with latitude 5.37° N and longitude 6.57° E.
Reputed as one of the oldest towns in Imo State, Mgbidi is bounded in the north by Ibi-Asoegbe and Aji, on the east by Amiri and Otulu, on the west by Ozara, and on the south by Oguta LGA and Awo-omamma.
Mgbidi has eleven communities, which are merged to form the six Autonomous Communities found in Mgbidi. The eleven communities are Imeoha, Eziali, Umuekwe, Okwudor, Umuorji, Umuokpara, Umuehi, Umuabiahu, Uzinaumu, Ihitte and Ugbele.
Arising from the vastness, the Mgbidi residents agonise over the annual economic loss to the communities that boast of quality hotels considering the huge annual worshippers’ traffic which if re-directed to Mgbidi would translate to enormous gains and spiritual cleansing of the land.
Meanwhile, Pastor Lazarus Mouka has told the crowd of worshippers at the 4-day International Crusade at the Lord’s Chosen headquarters, Odofin Park Estate, by Ijesha Bus Stop, off Oshodi Apapa expressway, Lagos State which commenced on Thursday that the divine mandate of evangelising 10 billion souls is ongoing.
He enjoined all those present that the ministry will not relent on the mandate, adding that the soul-winning project is very important because it does not please God for any human to perish due to lack of knowledge.
