OpenLife Nigeria reports that governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has ruled out Atiku’s spokesperson from the Kogi governorship election scheduled for November 11.
Dino Melaye hails from Kogi West which has not produced governor of the State since its creation on August 27, 1991.
The lanky politician had represented Kogi West in both Reps and Senate before contesting for the number one seat in 2019 but failed to secure the ticket.
Speaking to a group of journalists in Port Harcourt drawn from NTA, AIT, TVC, governor Wike maintained that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, must strategically select who flies the party’s ticket saying
“Dino (Melaye) does not have what it takes to be a Governor.”
It would be recalled that Dino Melaye fell out with Wike when he openly supported Atiku who Wike said was not supposed to be the party’s candidate on account of where he hails from, Northeast
