Ned Nwoko and Reginal Daniels

Why My Marriage

OpenLife Nigeria reports that in the last 48 hours, a trending video of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels in visible distress sparked widespread concern among fans on social media.

In the viral clip, the actress appears tearful as she is held and comforted by unidentified individuals. The cause of her distress remains unclear, prompting speculation among viewers.

Clarifying the unclear situation, Sammy West, the brother of the Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, on Saturday alleged that her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, beat her and smashed her head on the wall shortly after a video of his distressed sister surfaced online.

West, who vowed to defend women against domestic violence, also alleged that Nwoko sent thugs to attack the young actress.

“Makachi! E pain me say una wan finally laugh my sister. Let me repeat, anywhere wey man dey beat woman, whether na my sister or not, I go fight with my blood,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Senator Ned Nwoko, you get luck say after you beat my sister again, smash her head for wall, you run comot send thugs! I swear I for burst all your jaw!”

West said this shortly after a viral video showing Daniels distressed after being harassed by a group of men, whom she alleged were sent by her husband.

He was also seen confronting a man during the altercation, apparently in defence of his sister.
In the video, the visibly distressed actress was seen panting heavily as people around her tried to calm her down and poured water on her head.

She repeatedly said, “Ned sent his thugs,” while struggling to catch her breath.

At one point, Daniels was heard saying, “In Ned Nwoko’s house I’m nothing, but in my house I’m a queen. I cannot stand the violence again; it’s too much.”
The development comes months after the senator publicly dismissed rumours that his wife had left him.

In March, while celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary, Nwoko addressed speculation about the state of their marriage, writing, “Let them talk, let them guess. While we live, while we bless, for at the end, when curtains close, it’s us, my love, that victory knows.”

The speculation began in February when Daniels removed her husband’s name from her Instagram profile and deleted several pictures of him from her page.

Shortly after her return to Instagram, the actress subtly criticised her critics who advised her following rumours of the crash of her marriage.

Posing in front of a Ferrari, the actress wrote, “Don’t comment if you’ve never cried in a Ferrari before.”

The growing concerns by citizens over what may have happened got the husband, Senator Nwoko to open up on what seems the problem in the home.

Reacting Sunday morning, the Senator wrote on his Facebook wall:

REGINA’S UNPROVOKED CARNAGE AND RAMPAGE IN MY HOUSE AND IN MY ABSENCE

Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety. Now she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs.

I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence. Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting 3 staff in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause. The truth is, I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehab in Asokoro or outside Nigeria especially Jordan where she will not have access to drugs.

A clear headed regina would have taken moon to the hospital but instead she even threatened to kill our resident nurse(for exposing her drugs abuse). While I took Moon to the hospital, a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier. Another known supplier of drugs to Regina is the tiny evil devil called Ann.
