Kebbi Voters Should Support General Aminu Bande For 2023 Governorship
Kebbi Voters Should Support General Aminu Bande
OpenLife Nigeria reports that there are strong appeals from well meaning individuals in Kebbi State to ensure that he emerges as Kebbi State next governor. Those in the vanguard of this advocacy easily point at a time he embarked on massive distribution of palliatives as well as medical supports to Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, in Kebbi State around October 2020. That particular gesture, showed, in great measures, even to the blind, that retired General Aminu Bande, who was then the Acting General Officer Commanding, GOC of the 8 Division of Nigerian Army, is a man whose blood is full of human kindness. During the distribution exercise, Bande explained that the palliatives covered 32 communities across the state, adding that his aim was to see that the camps ravaged by flood are given good healthcare. Apart from General Aminu Bande’s innate humane and kind spirit, which he generously dispenses, his bosses, while in service, had cogent reasons to commend him for his professionalism and diligence to duty. In one of those instances, former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, commended Bande who had executed various projects at the Sokoto 8 Mechanised Division of the Nigerian Army at 26 Battalion. The projects enhanced soldier’s performance by boosting morale and efficiency of the personnel. Bande, while in service, led troops that made life very unbearable to bandits both in the bushes and along their escape routes, a development that compelled bandits to lobby to surrender themselves under the state government peace initiative in order to escape Bande’s troops’ superior fire power. For such a kind hearted man with deep knowledge of how to deal with insurgency to aspire to be Kebbi governor in 2023 is a clear indication that Kebbi’s backwardness is about to come to an end. It would be recalled that Major General Aminu Bande, Rtd, early February, formally declared his interest to contest the governorship seat of Kebbi state on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.
