Why I visited Tinubu—Fayose

Why I visited Tinubu
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Engineer Ayo Fayose, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain and former governor of Ekiti State has visited the former governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Fayose, a die-hard critic of the All Progressives Congress, APC and all the leading stakeholders, visited Tinubu at his Lagos residence on Tuesday.
Ahmed Tinubu had just returned to Nigeria after several months in the United Kingdom where he was said to have undergone kneel surgery.
While in the UK, the who is who in the APC enclave including President Muhammadu Buhari visited Tinubu to wish him a quick recovery.
Since he returned into the country, politicians of all shades and hues have visited him to register the traditional get well quick solidarity.
Expectedly, the solidarity visits which lots of political analysts adduce to the 2023 presidential aspiration of Tinubu have been mainly from the APC community.
But the Tuesday visit by Fayose raised curiosity in the political system.
Speaking through a statement he personally signed and obtained by OpenLife, Fayose stated that the visit came from his heart in line with his religious belief that one is not expected to hate his fellow human being as a result of political party differential.
He maintained that though he willingly visited the Bourdillon residence of the APC stalwart to wish him well, he remains a card-carrying member of the PDP.
According to Fayose, “Today, I was at Bourdillon, Ikoyi, Lagos to wish Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu a quick recovery.
“Health issues know no political party and in this part of the world, we seldom celebrate people when they are alive. “Rather, we like to sign condolence registers. To me, that is not the best way to live.
“Most importantly, politics should be about love for each other.
“Therefore, like other leaders in Nigeria, I wish Asiwaju sound and robust health.
“And to those negative political analysts, this visit notwithstanding, I remain an unrepentant PDP leader and key stakeholder,” he said.
