Why I Don’t Kiss In Movies—Toyo Baby

Why I Don’t Kiss In Movies

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Nollywood star Juliana Olayode, popularly known as Toyo Baby, has spoken openly about her personal choice to avoid on-screen kissing, making it clear that her decision is rooted in faith and personal conviction rather than judgment of her colleagues.

In a candid video shared with her fans, Olayode addressed the rumours surrounding her career, saying;

“It is true that I wouldn’t kiss in movies.”

She further highlighted the emotional toll of false narratives, emphasizing,

“It’s okay if you don’t like me. It’s okay if you say I’m not a good actor; it’s okay if you don’t want to work with me. But lying about me is deeply wrong and hurtful.”

Despite her firm stance, Juliana stressed that she is not closed off to opportunities.

She reassured filmmakers of her openness, stating;

“So I want to clear the air. There is absolutely NO producer or director I cannot work with. None. I am open and willing to work with anyone, as long as the story and my role do not go against my consecration to God.”

Her comments underline that her professional choices are guided by her personal principles, not by a desire to limit collaboration.

She added,
“They are just my personal consecration,” making it clear that her boundaries are about respect for her own values rather than criticism of others.

Juliana Olayode’s transparency has sparked discussion among fans and within the Nollywood community, with many praising her honesty and integrity, while others debate the balance between personal convictions and professional expectations.

Regardless, she remains firm in her stance, demonstrating that it’s possible to honor personal beliefs while maintaining a successful acting career.
