<p><em>Why I Attempted Suicide<&sol;em><br &sol;>&NewLine;<strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a> <&sol;strong>has gathered that iconic American entertainer&comma; Will Smith&comma; is opening up about his mental health journey&period; The Aladdin actor spoke about his struggles in a new trailer for his upcoming documentary series Will Smith&colon; The Best Shape of My Life&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The American actor&comma; rapper&comma; and film producer has been nominated for five <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchng&period;com&sol;">Golden Globe<&sol;a> Awards and two Academy Awards&comma; and has won four Grammy Awards&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The series&comma; which Smith teased earlier this year&comma; chronicles the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum on his fitness and weight loss journey&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;However&comma; along the way&comma; Smith revealed in the trailer that he &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;ended up discovering a whole lot of hidden things about myself&period;”<br &sol;>&NewLine;At one point in the trailer&comma; the actor — who is seen working on his memoir throughout the trailer — sits down with his three children Willow&comma; Jayden&comma; and Trey Smith&comma; where he reveals&comma; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;That was the only time in my life that I ever considered suicide&period;”<br &sol;>&NewLine;While it’s unclear what point in time Smith is referring to&comma; the trailer teases plenty of emotional moments&comma; with the Men in Black star admitting&comma; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I’m about to show the world how little I know about myself&comma;” Yahoo news reports&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Smith’s family has been open in the past about their own battles with mental health issues&period; Willow has spoken about suffering from anxiety&comma; explaining on Red Table Talk&comma; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;There’s a shame&period; There’s guilt&period; There’s sadness&period; There’s confusion&period; And then you don’t even want to talk about it because you’re like&comma; &OpenCurlyQuote;I feel crazy&period; I feel crazy for feeling this way and I don’t want them to think I’m crazy&comma; so I’m just not going to say anything&period;’”<br &sol;>&NewLine;Will’s wife Jada Pinkett-Smith also shared that she coped with negative feelings through her past alcohol and drug use&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Smith has reached out to others dealing with mental health struggles as well&period; Back in June&comma; the Pursuit of Happyness star showed support for tennis champion Naomi Osaka&comma; who withdrew from the French Open due to mental health challenges&period; In an Instagram post&comma; he wrote&comma; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Hey Naomi&comma; You are right&period; They are wrong&period; I am with you&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;

Nollywood Actress, Shine Rosman, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Sexual Harassment In Lagos OpenLife reports that Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has spoken about what she describes as ongoing incidents of sexual harassment affecting women in parts of Lagos, particularly in Yaba. She said the issue is widely known among residents but remains unaddressed. “Do you know how bad sexual harrssment is in Lagos? Like go to Yaba, as a girl and see how you will be touched inappropriately. Everybody hearing this knows that it is true. But till today, nothing is being done about it.” She described what she claims are repeated incidents of inappropriate contact in public spaces without consequences for those responsible. “You’re walking in Yaba and people are touching you inappropriately and nothing will happen.” Rosman questioned the absence of effective intervention and raised concerns about personal safety in such environments. “If the government is not going to do anything, is it not ok for us to defend ourselves? In 2026, in a country like Nigeria, s+xual har+ssment is still one of the most passive things.” She also raised concerns about the implications of such behaviour occurring in open public spaces. “If a man can s+xually h+rass you casually during the day, what do you think he can do behind closed doors when no one is looking?”. The comments were made during an interview with Tolu Afilaka, where she discussed women’s safety in public areas of Lagos.
