Why Buhari cannot sack Godwin Emefiele – Aisha

Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu, has said President Muhammadu Buhari cannot sack the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele.

Rumors made the rounds on social media earlier today that the CBN governor who had indicated an interest in contesting for president under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC had been sacked.

Reacting to the rumored reports in a tweet on her official Twitter handle, Aisha wrote,

“In as much as I would love @GodwinIEmefiele to be sacked for all his incompetence, failure and politicization of his office, the President cannot SACK a CBN Governor!

“There is a process and that process must be followed. It is called “Rule of Law”.

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has now come out to debunk reports of Emefiele’s sacking.
