We Will Make Edo State Nigeria’s Healing Hub—Accord

We Will Make Edo State

OpenLife Nigeria reports that following the bickering between the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC, over the demolition or relocation of Central Hospital, Benin City, Accord {Party} has urged voters in Edo State to vote the party in the next local government election as well as 2023 legislative elections and 2024 governorship general election for the citizen’s unhindered access to quality health care services.
The State Chairman of Accord, Ambassador Joseph Omoregbe, made this disclosure in Benin on Wednesday through a press statement by his media office.
Omoregbe lamented the poor state of health care facilities in the state and promised that provision of affordable health facilities for Edo citizens remains a priority for the party.
He stated that it is unfortunate that PDP and APC , the two political parties that have governed the state in the past 22 years, are fixated in war of words over the relocation or demolition of Central Hospital, Benin City.
“It is a shame that at this time when voters are expecting the two parties to give account of their stewardships in the health sector over the past 22 years, they distracting us with demolition and relocation.
“I urge my good people of Edo State to vote Accord {Party} in the next rounds of elections starting with Council and legislative in 2023 up to governorship in 2024.
“Accord is the only party that can guarantee access to quality health care in Edo. It is
one of our priorities in Accord.
“A political party that cannot provide functional health facilities for its people does not deserve to be voted into office again,” he stated.
Ambassador Omoregbe added that Accord blueprint outlines plans for a new development of primary healthcare centres across the state with quality manpower and availability of drugs.
He stressed that Accord’s plans would translate into making Edo State the healing hub in Nigeria.
The chairman maintained that the dysfunctional state of the 34 state hospitals in Edo will be reversed when Accord assumes office.
“Accord has individuals with unblemished integrity for legislative arm of government who would offer quality legislation for effective health care service as well as individuals for executive arm who would implement policies for a better Edo State.
“Therefore, I urge Edo and non-Edo citizens to embrace Accord for a better and sustainable standard of living,” he stated.
It would be recalled that there have been endless heated debates, amongst stakeholders, over what the Edo State Government intends to do with the over 100-year old Central Hospital, Benin City.
