Umu Anioma Foundation rewards selfless service

As the 2nd decade of the 21st Century gravitates to a glorious end, the Umu Anioma Foundation Worldwide has announced the recipients of the Umu Anioma Spirit of Community Awards. The awards recognize those who uphold strong ties through developmental initiatives in  the Anioma communities and neighborhoods. It also extends to those who demonstrate the spirit of creativity, innovation and initiative by responding in a proactive manner to  issues relevant to the well-being of the community.

A statement by Anthony Awunor, Head of Media and Communications, Umu Anioma Foundation Worldwide  added that those who promote  vision of responsible community membership which is respectful and inclusive of all ages, sub-cultures and abilities are also included.

The following awardees are billed for honour. The Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Chief (Prof.) Augustine Onwuyalim Esogbue. The Award goes to an Anioma personality who supports cultural value recovery. Mrs. Anthonia Isioma Oguah receives Anioma Culture Renaissance Award. Award goes to an Anioma personality who supports cultural value recovery. while Youth Empowerment Champion goes to Dr. Veronica Ifechide Ufoegbune and Dr. Unoma Ndili Okorafor. This award goes to an Anioma son or daughter involved in empowering Anioma youths in  employment, training. Mr. Charles Chiedu Odita receives Community Development Award. This award is for any Anioma son or daughter with proven track record of funding
or supporting development of Anioma Nation or any Anioma Community or has
demonstrated commitment to the development of Anioma Nation through their work

The investiture ceremony for the award recipients  holds on Saturday March 28, 2020 at the 10th Anniversary of Umu Anioma Foundation Worldwide Celebration, at Place du Souvenir Africain, Rue Corniche Ouest X Aimé Césaire, Dakar, Senegal.

Anioma is an acronym coined from six respective local government areas in the northern part of Delta State, Nigeria. The Anioma region has an estimated total population of approximately 1.1 million people.
