<h4>Two Years After<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that in a critical review of the 2nd anniversary of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of Nigeria&comma; Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam&comma; National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party&comma; SDP&comma; says Nigeria is still in search of direction as a result of the disappointing performance of the current government&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&rsqb;His thoughts&comma; earlier published on his Facebook wall&comma; are reproduced below unedited<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>Nigeria&&num;8217&semi;s democracy is at a crossroads&period; Two years ago&comma; President Bola Ahmed Tinubu&&num;8217&semi;s administration took office with high expectations&period; However&comma; the government&&num;8217&semi;s performance has been disappointing&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>The administration&&num;8217&semi;s priorities seem misplaced&period; Instead of addressing the needs and aspirations of Nigerians&comma; it has focused on political games&period; Insecurity&comma; poverty&comma; and inflation have worsened&comma; leaving many Nigerians struggling to survive&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>The government&&num;8217&semi;s policies have been criticized for targeting the poor while providing relief to the rich&period; The removal of fuel subsidies has had a devastating impact on the economy&comma; and the government&&num;8217&semi;s response has been inadequate&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>The scale of borrowing under this <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;vanguardngr&period;com&sol;">administration<&sol;a> is alarming&period; Nigeria&&num;8217&semi;s public debt has increased significantly&comma; and the government&&num;8217&semi;s justification for new borrowing is unconvincing&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>As opposition leaders&comma; we are committed to holding the government accountable&period; We reject any attempt to undermine democracy and silence dissent&period; We will continue to fight for economic justice&comma; political freedom&comma; and national progress&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>The future of Nigeria depends on the collective efforts of its citizens&period; We urge Nigerians to exercise their power and demand a better future&period; The right to freely choose leaders is fundamental to democracy&comma; and we will protect it&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>The SDP is working to restore hope and build confidence in Nigeria&&num;8217&semi;s democracy&period; We will continue to speak out against government excesses and fight for the rights of Nigerians&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>Nigeria&&num;8217&semi;s problems are complex&comma; but they are not insurmountable&period; With collective effort and determination&comma; we can build a better future for all Nigerians&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>The government&&num;8217&semi;s performance has fallen short of expectations&period; It&&num;8217&semi;s time for change&period; We need a government that prioritizes the needs and aspirations of Nigerians&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>The opposition is united in its determination to challenge the excesses of this administration and restore accountability&period; We will not stand idly by while democracy is undermined&period;-SMG<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
