OpenLife Nigeria reports that a former Super Eagles boss, Gernot Rohr, has reminisced about his sacking as the coach of the national team. He alleged that then NFF Boss Amaju Pinnick had him sacked in a bid of avoiding disaster for the national team; however, reverse is the case.
“Amaju Pinnick said that I was sacked to avoid a disaster (for the Super Eagles)… But everybody can see that without me, there was a disaster. These are the facts,” he told journalist.
“There was no rationale for sacking me as they did, because if I had gone to the AFCON and not won it, or if I had not qualified for the World Cup, the could have ended my contract without paying me anything… But they are paying up my contract in full now. I don’t think they studied my contract properly before taking their decision,” he added.
