Support Globacom, Primate Ayodele Tells Tinubu

<h4>Support Globacom<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;"><strong>OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;strong><&sol;a> reports that the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church&comma; Primate Elijah Ayodele has advised Nigeria’s president&comma; Bola Ahmed Tinubu to increase support for the country’s only indigenous telecommunication company&comma; Globacom and prevent creation of other telecommunication companies in Nigeria&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>This call was made at the presentation of the 30th edition of the prophet’s annual prophecy book titled <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchng&period;com&sol;">Warnings To The Nations<&sol;a> on Saturday&comma; 6th of July&comma; 2024 in Lagos&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Primate Ayodele made it known that Globacom has the capacity to help Nigeria overcome economic challenges but the government must support them in order to increase this capacity&period; He stated that the company will create more employment if the needed support is given&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>However&comma; he warned that the establishment of another indigenous telecommunication company will lead to unnecessary rivalry and will not be healthy for Nigeria’s economy&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He advised that instead of establishing another company&comma; all resources should be put together to support Globacom&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyQuote;<em><strong>’Let the government support indigenous telecommunication companies because they will create more employment&period; <&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>&&num;8220&semi;We don’t need so much to avoid rivalry&period; We shouldn’t bring up any other indigenous telecommunication apart from Glo&comma; we should put resources together to support this one we have&period;’’<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>&OpenCurlyQuote;’Glo has come to stay and has the capacity to create an economic boom for President Tinubu’s administration&period; <&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>&&num;8220&semi;Let’s support our own instead of creating unnecessary rivalry that will lead to calamity for the country&period;’’<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In a related development&comma; the Nigeria&&num;8217&semi;s national telecommunications operator has been described as an industry leader in the telecommunications sector by Ekiti State Governor&comma; Mr&period; Abiodun Oyebanji&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Governor Oyebanji said this on Monday in the state capital of Ado Ekiti&comma; when he met with a group of Glo representatives from the company&&num;8217&semi;s Enterprise Business Group&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;Globacom is our own and a good ambassador of this country as far as telecommunications services are concerned&&num;8221&semi;&comma; Governor Oyebanji said&comma; and added that the Ekiti State Government was prepared to do business with the company&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He also expressed gratitude to Dr&period; Mike Adenuga Jr&period;&comma; the Chairman of Globacom&comma; for his services to Nigeria and the economy at large&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;25790" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-25790" style&equals;"width&colon; 300px" class&equals;"wp-caption alignnone"><img class&equals;"size-medium wp-image-25790" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2024&sol;07&sol;Ekiti-Gov-visit-300x113&period;jpg" alt&equals;"Support Globacom" width&equals;"300" height&equals;"113" &sol;><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-25790" class&equals;"wp-caption-text"><em><strong>The governor with Globacom representatives<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;<p>The governor said he would be happy to work with Globacom to advance the state&&num;8217&semi;s digital economy and increase youth empowerment&comma; particularly in the areas of expanding fibre connectivity services and the development of a digital economy in the state&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Adeniyi Odejobi&comma; who the led the Glo team to the Governor&&num;8217&semi;s office&comma; said the company is not only the largest integrated telecommunications service provider in Nigeria&comma; but it also serves millions of individuals nationwide as well as large corporates&comma; public sector organizations&comma; SMEs&comma; and enterprises&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>According to Adeniyi&comma; Globacom has been at the forefront of revolutionary advances in the telecommunications sector for more than 20 years&comma; all targeted at the empowerment of Nigerians&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;

Nollywood Actress, Shine Rosman, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Sexual Harassment In Lagos OpenLife reports that Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has spoken about what she describes as ongoing incidents of sexual harassment affecting women in parts of Lagos, particularly in Yaba. She said the issue is widely known among residents but remains unaddressed. “Do you know how bad sexual harrssment is in Lagos? Like go to Yaba, as a girl and see how you will be touched inappropriately. Everybody hearing this knows that it is true. But till today, nothing is being done about it.” She described what she claims are repeated incidents of inappropriate contact in public spaces without consequences for those responsible. “You’re walking in Yaba and people are touching you inappropriately and nothing will happen.” Rosman questioned the absence of effective intervention and raised concerns about personal safety in such environments. “If the government is not going to do anything, is it not ok for us to defend ourselves? In 2026, in a country like Nigeria, s+xual har+ssment is still one of the most passive things.” She also raised concerns about the implications of such behaviour occurring in open public spaces. “If a man can s+xually h+rass you casually during the day, what do you think he can do behind closed doors when no one is looking?”. The comments were made during an interview with Tolu Afilaka, where she discussed women’s safety in public areas of Lagos.
