Sowore Celebrates Falana At 64

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Omoyele Sowore, a Nigerian human rights activist, pro-democracy campaigner, founder of an online news agency Sahara Reporters and 2023 presidential hopeful on the platform of African Action Congress, AAC, has felicitated with Nigeria’s foremost legal icon, Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, on the occasion of his 64th birthday.
Writing on his Facebook wall, Sowore applauded Falana’s commitment to a better Nigeria and described him as “Fatherly Comrade.”
“Special happy revolutionary birthday shoutout to our Fatherly Comrade, Femi Falana SAN! May his new age propel Nigeria towards the lifesaving revolution it badly needs,” Sowore wrote.
Femi Falana who has, over the years, become the voice of the voiceless and down trodden in the Nigeria system was
born on May 20, 1958 at Ilawe, Ekiti State.
The Nigerian lawyer and Human rights activist attended St. Michael’s School from 1963 to 1968 as well as Sacred Heart Catholic Seminary between 1971 and 1975.
The graduate of the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife began his legal practice in 1982 and handled tough cases in and outside Nigeria.
Apart from his consistent advocacy for good governance, the Principal Partner at Falana & Falana Chambers, was, only recently, the national chairman of National Conscience Party, NCP. He was on the Ekiti governorship ballot in 2010.
The author of “Governance Politics in Post Military Nigeria Fundamental Rights Enforcement, belongs to many professional bodies and at a time, was the President, West African Bar Association.
