Senator Ned Nwoko Clarifies Alleged Fresh Romantic Ties

OpenLife Nigeria reports that Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the 10th National Assembly, has clarified his alleged new romantic engagements.

The clarifications came against the backdrop of information in the social media indicating that the 64 years old Senator allegedly “gets married to a new 20-year old virgin Hausa Wife to teach Regina Daniels a lesson.”

Further, the information indicated that the essence of the alleged marriage to a new “wife” is “ to prove” that Regina, whom he has quarrel with is “not his only option.”

In a statement, obtained from his Facebook wall, titled “PUBLIC STATEMENT,” Ned Nwoko said that though there was a visit to his house in which photographs were taken, the attempts to describe it as marriage in the public space is “mischievous and malicious for anyone to exploit such gestures to fabricate false narratives.”

The clarification reads in full:

A video recently brought to my attention shows a young woman who visited with her team under the Peace Ambassadors initiative, led by Ambassador Dr. Adejo Sule, and it is now being circulated online with false claims attempting to affiliate me with her.

It is unfortunate what social media has become, a space where moments are easily twisted for clout and misinformation.

During the visit, photographs were taken with members of the delegation, as is customary whenever I receive guests. This is not unusual; even in public places or outdoor events, people often request to take pictures with me, and I oblige. It is therefore mischievous and malicious for anyone to exploit such gestures to fabricate false narratives.

Let me state clearly and unequivocally that the news being propagated around her visit is entirely false. I do not have any form of personal or private connection with her.

I strongly caution individuals, groups, or media outlets spreading this fabricated story to desist immediately. Any further propagation of this false narrative will attract appropriate legal action.

The Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, “Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety.”

The senator also accused her of attacking his staff and damaging property in his Abuja home, adding that she needed rehabilitation “either in Nigeria or abroad.”

As of press time, Regina had not publicly responded, but her silence has only fuelled speculation and sympathy among fans.

The marriage that broke the Internet

When Regina married Nwoko in 2019, Critics accused Regina of marrying for wealth; supporters saw her as pragmatic. Regina herself dismissed the noise.

In interviews, she described Nwoko as “kind and caring,” often posting affectionate photos of their luxury vacations and family life.

For years, I have divorced already and there is nothing between me and him. Anybody who followed me because of him can unfollow me, please,” she wrote.

Nwoko’s team quickly countered, accusing Laila of “indecent conduct” during a London trip and undergoing plastic surgery without his consent.

Months later, Laila apologised publicly, saying she had “listened too much to outsiders.” Their reconciliation was widely reported as proof of “maturity and forgiveness.”

Today, that cycle of conflict and public reconciliation seems to be repeating itself, this time with Regina.

A blogger, Ajemba Stanley, alleged that the current row began with a physical altercation, the Regina-Nwoko saga is more than celebrity gossip; it’s a reflection of how power, gender, and class play out in modern relationships.

What was once idolised as a Cinderella story has become a cautionary tale about fame and emotional collapse behind closed doors.

A social commentator, Nollywood Actress, Shine Rosman, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Sexual Harassment In Lagos OpenLife reports that Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has spoken about what she describes as ongoing incidents of sexual harassment affecting women in parts of Lagos, particularly in Yaba. She said the issue is widely known among residents but remains unaddressed. “Do you know how bad sexual harrssment is in Lagos? Like go to Yaba, as a girl and see how you will be touched inappropriately. Everybody hearing this knows that it is true. But till today, nothing is being done about it.” She described what she claims are repeated incidents of inappropriate contact in public spaces without consequences for those responsible. “You’re walking in Yaba and people are touching you inappropriately and nothing will happen.” Rosman questioned the absence of effective intervention and raised concerns about personal safety in such environments. “If the government is not going to do anything, is it not ok for us to defend ourselves? In 2026, in a country like Nigeria, s+xual har+ssment is still one of the most passive things.” She also raised concerns about the implications of such behaviour occurring in open public spaces. “If a man can s+xually h+rass you casually during the day, what do you think he can do behind closed doors when no one is looking?”. The comments were made during an interview with Tolu Afilaka, where she discussed women’s safety in public areas of Lagos.
