Senator Francis Fadahunsi Who Called For Killing In Osun Guber Election Summoned By Police

Senator Francis Fadahunsi

OpenLife News reports that  Osun State Police Command has summoned the Senator representing Osun East, Francis Fadahunsi, following a viral video in which he allegedly y threatened to kill members of the Accord Party ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

The Command’s spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the development during a phone interview on Wednesday. He said the Senator was invited by the Commissioner of Police in charge of election security, Samuel Etaifo.
“I can confirm that he has been summoned by the CP. We will make a statement available regarding it,” Ojelabi said.

What Triggered the Summon

A video that surfaced online on Tuesday showed Fadahunsi speaking in Yoruba at the palace of the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland in Ilesa. The gathering was a protest over the alleged killing of three APC members in Ilesa on Tuesday.

The Video

The Senator said:
“How many people have you seen the APC kill? We are here to tell you that until the day of the election, if we see any Accord member in Ilesa, we will kill them.”

Another video also went viral the same day featuring Francis Eniade, the APC candidate for Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections.

Speaking at a campaign rally, also in Yoruba, Eniade said:
“I was only waiting for today before I talked. I swear to God, anyone who is not an APC member should not come out on election day…

Accord Party can’t vote in Odo-Otin. I am the one who said so. All the votes in Odo-Otin belong to the APC.”

He also told APC members to go to their wards and ensure that “anybody who is not an APC member should not come out to vote.”

Governor Adeleke Demands Arrest

Reacting in Osogbo, Governor Ademola Adeleke called for the immediate arrest of Senator Fadahunsi. He described the comments as a threat to national security.

“The second issue has to do with the viral video of a serving Senator, Francis Fadahunsi, who today called for the killing of Accord Party leaders, supporters and their families. In the video, the Senator even threatened that where they cannot get Accord Party leaders, they should kill their wives and children,” the Governor said.

Adeleke said he had reported the matter to the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, and demanded an investigation and arrest. According to him, the IGP acknowledged the video and assured him that action would be taken immediately.

The Governor added that the issue goes beyond politics and requires the attention of the President through the Office of the National Security Adviser.

What happens next?

With the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, the police are expected to question Senator Fadahunsi and determine next steps. The Command said it will issue an official statement after the meeting.
