Security Chiefs: “Wike’s Plot To Destroy Atiku Dead On Arrival” By Elijah Afolabi

On Wednesday, October 16 2022, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar condemned the President Muhammadu Buhari -led administration over what he described as the lopsided appointment of heads of security agencies.

He spoke during an interactive session with members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors in Lagos.

“Today, we have 17 heads of various security agencies. All of them come from the North; I will not do that. I will make sure that every geopolitical zone is represented in these security outfits. This is also another way you can unify this country and give every part of this country a sense of belonging”, Atiku said while promising to do better and ensuring that all regions are represented if elected president.

In response, an aggrieved member of the party and governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike mocked Atiku saying his words should not be trusted.

Wike and the G5 have been demanding the resignation of PDP National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu because, according to them, it is unjust for him and Atiku to come from the same regional bloc.

He accused Atiku of hypocrisy saying he has no moral basis to criticise President Muhammadu Buhari over the alleged lopsided appointment of security chiefs.

Wike said Atiku should first ensure there is equity in his party before faulting the President over a similar issue.

But what Wike has failed to realize is that both the national chairman and presidential campaign DG were not appointed by Atiku but the leadership of the PDP.

Wike as usual is just being mischievous determined to destroy Atiku by all means with character assassination.

This is not surprising as he is still licking his wounds following his defeat to Atiku at the PDP presidential primaries including the futile efforts to be nominated as vice president which proved abortive.

I advise the Oyo, Enugu, Benue and Abia governors in Wike’s camp to flee and return to their party’s loyalty before it is too late.

Wike can cry foul forever, but Waziri Atiku Abubakar will become president in 2023 with or without him.
