Lagosians have come under heavy criticism by the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu over their refusal to enroll for the Nigerian Army recruitment exercises.
Sanwo-Olu expressed his concerns in a letter to the state local government authorities on September 29, signed by Folashade Jaji.
The governor lamented that Lagos State has been recording low online applications despite several jingles on media platforms.
The Nigerian Army commenced the recruitment process for its 82 Regular Recruits Intake exercise on September 10 when the online application portal opened.
The portal is expected to close on November 26.

He maintained that it was pertinent to strategise other means to reach able-bodied youths to ensure massive responses of applicants as well as utilise slots allocated to the state.
Sanwo-Olu called for a statewide sensitisation campaign to “afford youths (Lagos State indigenes) opportunities to acquaint themselves with benefits” of joining the army.
