Sanusi Buba, Katsina Commissioner descends on criminals, rescues captives

&NewLine;<p><strong>The renewed vigour and tenacious commitment of Katsina State Police Commissioner&comma; Sanusi Buba&comma; to end  the ugly mention of Katsina State on daily criminal pages&comma; are yielding results as several arrest have been made in the past few weeks including recovering of arms and rescue of kidnap victims&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p><strong>These revelations are contained in a press statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer&comma; Superintendent Gambo Isah&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p><strong>According to the statement&comma; &nbsp&semi;there was a report&comma; on June 20&comma; that bandits numbering about 18 had attacked Salihawar Dan-Alhaji village in the &nbsp&semi;Batsari Local Government Area of the state&comma; kidnapping two females and rustled cows&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p><strong>This prompted the Batsari’s Operations &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Puff Adder” and &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Sharan Daji&comma;” led by the Divisional Police Officer&comma; DPO to chase the hoodlums into the forest and engaged them in a gun duel&period;&nbsp&semi; The team succeeded and rescued one 55 years old Laure Alhaji Amadu and recovered 18 cows and 10 rams&period;&nbsp&semi; At the moment&comma; search parties are still combing the area with a view to rescue the other kidnapped victims&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p><strong>Similarly&comma; the Command has &nbsp&semi;rescued a kidnapped 72 years old Alhaji Magaji Ibrahim&comma; head of Barkiya village in Kurfi Local Government Area of Katsina State&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p><strong>According to Isah&comma; the Police got information on June 23 to the effect that<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p><strong>bandits numbering 10 attacked the village&period;&nbsp&semi; The DPO led a team of Counter Terrorists Units in collaboration with local vigilante&comma; chased and engaged the hoodlums into a fierce gun duel&period;&nbsp&semi; In the spur of the moment&comma; the hoodlums took to their heels and escaped into the forest which led to the rescue of the victim unhurt and has since been reunited with his family&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p><strong>The Public Relations Officer also disclosed that on June 14&comma; a distress call was received that one 40 years old Abdulrahaman Abdulkarim of Madabu village&comma; Dabawa&comma; Dutsinma Local Government Area killed his 19 years old junior wife called &nbsp&semi;Wasila Sada and dumped her dead body in a Well&period;&nbsp&semi; Consequently&comma; DPO Dutsinma led a team of detectives to the scene&comma; recovered the body and took it to the General Hospital where it was confirmed dead by the attending physician after post mortem examination&period; The&nbsp&semi; suspect has been arrested and is assisting the police in their investigation&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;
