Sallah: Nagogo, Commanders, DPOs on red alert

Ahead of the 2020 EID-eL-KABIR celebrations slated for July 30, Zamfara State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner  Usman Nagogo, has stepped up measures to provides adequate security.

This also include measures to ensure hitch free celebration across the 14 local governments areas of the state.

Superintendent   Mohammed shehu, Zamfara Police Public Relations Officer made this available in a signed statement made available to OpenLife.

In the statement, Nagogo assures members of the public that adequate security measures have been put in place to cover all the praying grounds. The measure also covers highways to forestall  any security hitch.

To this end, the statement added that  the Commissioner of Police has directed all  Area Commanders, DPOs and  various Tactical Commanders  to be on red alert. He has also instructed them to properly cover  their areas of responsibility.

Specifically, the stop and search, rigorous patrols as well as raiding of criminal hideout areas should be aggressive.

 Similarly, the CP enjoins members of the public  to be security conscious and report all suspicious movement to the nearest police station for prompt action.

He  further warns all and sundry to abide by the rules and regulations meant for the prevention of  the spread of COVID-19 in Zamfara state.

Meanwhile, governor Bello Matawalle assumed office on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in 2019. He has so far given out cows and rams to the citizens of Zamfara  for sumptuous Sallah celebrations.

Zamfara state is in northwestern Nigeria with  capital in Gusua. Before its creation  in 1996 by late general Sanni Abacha, the area was part of Sokoto State.

The State is populated with the Hausa and Fulani peoples. Major groups of people are the Zamfarawa mainly in Anka, Gummi, Bukkuyum and Talata Mafara Local Governments areas.
