OpenLife Nigeria reports that the eight-count charge of committing offence of counterfeiting, possession of fake drugs, and selling ban and unregistered drugs preferred against a Lagos based Indian businessman, Inderpreet Singh and his Nigerian collaborator Omorodion Sylvester has been adjourned to 11th of June,2024 for continuation of trial.

In the 8- count charge that was filed before the court by the NAFDAC prosecutor, B.Simon, it was alleged that Omorodion Sylvester, Male, adult, 41 years old, of No 2, Surulere Street, Volks, Ojo, Lagos on or about the 20th day of February, 2021, within the jurisdiction of the Court did aid Inderpreet Singh, Male, adult, 49 years old, of 306, Apple Estate, Festac, Lagos, to sell fake drug.

The drug, among according to the charges, is Tramadol Hydrochloride Tablets 225mg.

On account of that, he is charged for committing an offence contrary to Section 1(C) of the Counterfeit and Fake Drugs and Unwholesome Processed Foods (Miscellaneous Provisions)Act, Cap. C34, LFN, 2004 and punishable under Section 3 (1) a of the same Act.

The two defendants who pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned before the court are currently on bail.
