OpenLife Nigeria reports that riot has broken out in Liberia over the identity of the President of the Liberia Football Association, Mustapha Raji.
Only recently, Mustapha Raji was
re-elected as a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF.)
The re election was seen as a monumental achievement for Liberia. Insiders said that the milestone not only underscores Raji’s dedication to the development of football but also positions Liberia as a key player in African football governance.
“Raji’s re-election is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the sport and his ability to drive meaningful change both locally and continentally, “ Omari Jackson wrote last week in Liberia.
However, on Tuesday, some men believed to be members of the Student Unification Party (SUP) trooped into the premises of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) to stage a protest, during which they assaulted staff of the institution.
According to the group, the protest is intended to challenge the nationality of LFA President Mustapha Raji.
The protesting students forcibly made their way into the compound and were seen throwing stones during the disturbance
