Reasons Buhari not performing
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Nollywood star, Dr. Kenneth Okonkwo has advanced reasons President Muhammadu Buhari has not performed optimally since he assumed office in 2015.
Okonkwo, now a Barrister, who hugged the national limelight in the movie “Living in Bondage,” however gave a pass mark to Buhari in his administrative efforts saying that but for his tenacity and commitment to the welfare of Nigerians, the country would have been a forgotten issue.
Okonkwo made these remarks when he featured on Gbenga Aruleba’s Jigsaw programme on African Independent Television, AIT, Tuesday.
Drawing his attention to the high level of insecurity in Nigeria, Aruleba reminded Okonkwo that the rising spate of banditry and terrorism point to the administrative failures of the ruling party.
He told Okonkwo that partly because of President Buhari’s inability to convert unoccupied territories to agricultural and industrial use, terrorists have converted same to their safe haven.
However, Okonkwo insisted on Buhari’s commendable efforts saying that his advisers have failed to fill in the gaps by offering low-quality advice.
“The President has done much. It was the President who ensured that allocations now get to council chairmen,” he stated.
