The Independent National Electora Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed why the Anambra governorship election was declared inconclusive.
The commission said it was due to crisis in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.
The electoral umpire fixed Tuesday, November 9, 2021 as date for a supplementary election.
INEC had earlier suspended the announcement of final results and declaration of a winner.
Meanwhile, supporters and well-wishers have begun to throng into country home of the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
Soludo has been leading in the election from the 19 local governments’ results so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday.
The former Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor won in 17.
A crowd had already gathered at Soludo’s residence in Isuofia awaiting the final declaration of result, believing that the APGA candidate would emerge winner.
