<p><strong>Popular Nollywood Actor, Romanus Amuta has died after a long battle with a protracted illness.</strong></p>
<p>Amuta rose to limelight after featuring in Popular Nigerian Soap Opera ‘The Masquerade’ where he played the role of ‘Natty’.</p>
<p>The Veteran actor’s death was confirmed by his son, Chukwuma Amuta.</p>
<p>Amuta disappeared from the acting scene after developing Stroke in 2009. His health was being managed quietly until his demise today.</p>
<p>Speaking on the development, Chukwuma told newsmen: “My father died this morning in Lagos after a protracted illness”.</p>
<p>The 79 year old hails from Ukana, Udi LGA of Enugu state.</p>

<p>In 2014, the actor made headlines after a rumour hit Social Media with the caption ‘Romanus Amuta is Dead’. The report was quickly dispelled as the thespian granted an interview to journalists stating that he was alive and well but admitted being down with Partial paralysis arising from Stroke.</p>

<p>Amuta is survived by a wife and Children. Burial arrangements will soon be announced by the Family.</p>
