OpenLife Nigeria reports that Plateau State Government, in partnership with Hillside Hospitality, a consortium made up by Strom Infrastructure Investment and Management Limited and BLK Hut Media hosted a high-level Stakeholder Engagement Meeting to advance discussions on the revitalization of the historic Hill Station Resort.

The event brought together key players in government, tourism, business, and investment, reinforcing Plateau’s commitment to reclaiming its status as Nigeria’s hospitality capital.

The Hill Station Resort revitalization project, led by Hillside Hospitality under a ₦8.5 billion concession agreement, is a flagship initiative designed to boost tourism, create jobs, and drive economic growth in Plateau State.

The engagement provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss expectations, explore economic opportunities, and align efforts towards positioning Jos as a premier destination for business and leisure travel.

Speaking on the project’s vision, the Director of Hillside Hospitality, Hakeem Daniel Condotti highlighted its potential to redefine hospitality and tourism in Plateau State, reinforcing the
commitment to excellence and innovation.

“Strom Infrastructure’s involvement in the Hill Station Project stems from a deep love for
Plateau State, evident in its investment and role in NESCO Nigeria.

“With a commitment to preserving and enhancing historical landmarks, Strom Infrastructure was selected as the concessionaire for this transformative initiative.

“This milestone was formally sealed with the signing of the Heads of Terms Agreement in July 2024, marking the beginning of a strategic journey to reposition Hill Station Resort as a premier destination in Nigeria.

“In alignment with its collaborative philosophy, Strom Infrastructure established Hillside Hospitality to spear head this endeavor.

“Recognizing the need for strategic partnerships, Strom Infrastructure sought out partners who will complement its industry experience.

“Thus, BLK Hut Media became a partner in Hillside Hospitality, laying a robust foundation for the successful realization of this ambitious vision,” said Hakeem Daniel Condotti, Director, Hillside Hospitality Limited.

The partnership between the Plateau State Government and Hillside Hospitality, a consortium of investors led by Strom Infrastructure Investment and Management Limited represents a new era of strategic investment in Plateau’s hospitality sector.

“We are committed to transform from Hill Station Hotel to Hill Station Resort. We are
commencing work on-site on March 1, 2025, we are taking Hill Station Resort to a global
stage and we are launching the first phase of the project by December, 2025.

“This marks a significant step toward revitalizing Hill Station and underscores our unwavering commitment to Plateau State’s growth.

“Hillside Hospitality believes in the transformative power of strategic investments to uplift communities, create opportunities, and drive sustainable development.

“This project is about much more than infrastructure—it is about shaping the future of Plateau State and unlocking its vast potential to reclaim its position as the hospitality Capital of
Nigeria.” said Hakeem Daniel Condotti, Director, Hillside Hospitality Limited.

He reaffirmed the commitment to deliver a world-class hospitality experience while preserving the cultural and historical essence of Hill Station Hotel.

“Our idea is to maintain the 1938 structure and site views with modern luxury. Our project timeline is from 2025 – 2027,”  said Michael Nadorp, MD 3ADB Limited.

With an expected commissioning in Q4 2025, the project will introduce state-of-the-art
conference facilities, premium accommodations, leisure amenities, and a revitalized tourism ecosystem to attract business travelers, tourists, and investors.

The stakeholder discussions also highlighted the project’s direct and indirect economic impact, from job creation to supporting local businesses and strengthening Plateau’s position as a premier hospitality hub.

“The people of plateau are diligent, hardworking and trusted to carry out every task given to them to do, we will support and patronize the business” said Arch. Samuel N. Jatau, Secretary to the Plateau State Government on behalf of the Governor.

The engagement ended with a shared commitment from all participants to supporting the success of the project and ensuring its long-term sustainability.
