<h4>PDP Speaks On Former Chairman&&num;8217&semi;s Suspension<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a><&sol;strong> reports that in a press statement titled &&num;8220&semi;PDP Dismisses Purported Suspension of Senator Ahmed Makarfi&comma;&&num;8221&semi; and made available to journalists on Monday&comma;  the People&&num;8217&semi;s Democratic Party&comma; PDP&comma; clarifies issues arising from the suspension of it&&num;8217&semi;s former national chairman&comma; Ahmed Makarfi&period; The statement&comma; signed by the party spokesperson&comma; Honourable Debo Ologunagba&comma; is reproduced below<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>The attention of the National Working Committee &lpar;NWC&rpar; of the Peoples Democratic Party &lpar;PDP&rpar; has been drawn to the purported suspension of former Governor of Kaduna State and former Acting National Chairman of our Party&comma; Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi&comma; reportedly by the Ward Executive of Tudun Wada Ward of Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>The NWC&comma; after a thorough consideration of all the issues raised by the Ward Executive&comma; hereby declares the purported decision and action of the Tudun Wada Ward Executives which borders on issues of discipline&comma; as null and void and of no effect&comma; not being consistent with the provisions of the Constitution of the PDP &lpar;As amended in 2017&rpar;&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>For clarity&comma; Section 57 &lpar;7&rpar; provides that &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Notwithstanding any other provision relating to discipline&comma; no Executive Committee&comma; at any level except the National Executive Committee&comma; shall entertain any question of discipline as may relate or concern a member of the National Executive Committee&comma; Deputy Governor or member of the National Assembly”&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>The NWC therefore charges all leaders&comma; critical stakeholders&comma; members&comma; teeming supporters of our Party in Kaduna State and the general public to disregard the purported suspension of Senator Makarfi by the Ward being a member of the National Executive Committee &lpar;NEC&rpar; of our Party&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>The NWC also charges all Party members in Kaduna State to remain united at this critical time especially as the Party leadership is progressing in our concerted effort to ensure a comprehensive reconciliation in our Party&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;

Nollywood Actress, Shine Rosman, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Sexual Harassment In Lagos OpenLife reports that Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has spoken about what she describes as ongoing incidents of sexual harassment affecting women in parts of Lagos, particularly in Yaba. She said the issue is widely known among residents but remains unaddressed. “Do you know how bad sexual harrssment is in Lagos? Like go to Yaba, as a girl and see how you will be touched inappropriately. Everybody hearing this knows that it is true. But till today, nothing is being done about it.” She described what she claims are repeated incidents of inappropriate contact in public spaces without consequences for those responsible. “You’re walking in Yaba and people are touching you inappropriately and nothing will happen.” Rosman questioned the absence of effective intervention and raised concerns about personal safety in such environments. “If the government is not going to do anything, is it not ok for us to defend ourselves? In 2026, in a country like Nigeria, s+xual har+ssment is still one of the most passive things.” She also raised concerns about the implications of such behaviour occurring in open public spaces. “If a man can s+xually h+rass you casually during the day, what do you think he can do behind closed doors when no one is looking?”. The comments were made during an interview with Tolu Afilaka, where she discussed women’s safety in public areas of Lagos.
