<p><em>Oshiomhole for 2023<&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;openlife&period;ng&sol;">OpenLife Nigeria<&sol;a> <&sol;strong>reports that in what seems like preparations for 2023 general elections&comma; Comrade Adams Oshiomhole&comma; former President&comma; Nigeria Labour Congress&comma; NLC&comma; may have decided to begin early preparations to deliver&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Indications towards this emerged on Thursday&comma; August 2 when the former governor decided to test his popularity&comma; once again&comma; on the streets of Benin&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He had&comma; earlier&comma; paid condolence visit to the family of late Sir Victor Uwaifo who died recently at the age of 80 with his retinue of aides&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Condolence visit over&comma; the immediate past national chairman of the <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchng&period;com&sol;">All Progressives Congress&comma; APC<&sol;a>&comma; alighted from his car on Oba Akenzua Street to patronize roasted corn sellers&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;His presence elicited joy on the street and many trooped out to catch a glimpse of the onetime governor who was believed to have been politically liquidated by Governor Godwin Obaseki in the 2020 governorship contest in Edo&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The obviously happy roasted corn sellers were seen in a video&comma; on Chris Osa Media Group Facebook wall&comma; jumping and dancing over the once-a-while patronage&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;As it is common in such instances&comma; especially when political consideration is the hallmark of the patronage&comma; Adams Oshiomhole must have paid huge sums for the few he bought for himself and aides&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Interestingly&comma; buying roasted corn by the roadside has become a common feature with Adams Oshiomhole&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Over the years&comma; he has entrenched that style as a benchmark to symbolize his fraternity with the downtrodden in the State&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;In countless elections&comma; either for himself or APC candidates&comma; Adams Oshiomhole had been seen eating roasted corn on the streets&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;On each occasion&comma; the sellers&comma; passers-by and indeed&comma; any person in the surrounding often benefit financial gains from the man popularly called Comrade&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Meanwhile&comma; events in the past months in the APC where Oshiomhole is a major stakeholder&comma; are indicative that the party is weighing the option of zoning its presidential slot to the South&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Taking full advantage of the ebbing presidential interest of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a result of endless off-and-on hospital experience&comma; Oshiomhole’s key loyalists are said to have hatched the plan to fill the slot&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The all-encasing argument&comma; OpenLife gathered&comma; is that the South-South deserves to complete Jonathan’s incomplete 2nd tenure&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The governor of Imo State&comma; Hope Uzodinma&comma; OpenLife further gathered&comma; has been assigned the arrowhead of the syndicate to whittle down any uprising and agitation from the easterners for the top job&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The plan&comma; OpenLife gathered fits since Uzodinma’s only 2023 interest is a return to the Douglas Government House in Owerri&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Besides the seeming merits the South-South argument would throw up&comma; Adams Oshiomhole&comma; our source narrated&comma; would sell very well in the north&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Remember&comma; he grew up there&period; He lived all his life in Kaduna&period; He speaks Hausa language very well and he understands their culture and traditions&period; He has lots of governors in his kitty who will do anything to ensure Adams Oshiomhole wins&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Outside Tinubu&comma; there is no one in the entire South&comma; comprising South West&comma; South-South and southeast that can compete with Oshiomhole for the APC Presidential ticket&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;But you know he is Tinubu’s friend&period; And from all indications&comma; Tinubu might not run because of his health&period; Once that is cleared and okayed&comma; Oshiomhole would step into the rig&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;As we speak&comma; it is not that Buhari has given his nod&period; Oshiomhole’s friends who are close to Baba are working on that&comma;” an APC Reps member told OpenLife in confidence Thursday evening&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The 2023 presidential election is expected to hold on February 18&comma; 2023&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
