Okey Bakasssi Clarifies Death Of Afrobeats Star
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule, popularly known as Okey Bakassi, in the entertainment industry has offered clarifications on the death of Afrobeats star, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly knowns as Mohbad, who died mysteriously on September 12, 2023.
Speaking on Arise TV Sunday morning, the 53 years old Nigerian stand-up comedian and actor, who won the “Best Actor in a Leading Role” category at the 2014 edition of the Best of Nollywood Awards, said there is no industry across the globe without drama.
He noted that there undeniable under belly dirt in the entertainment industry, some of which are coming into the public space as a result of the death of 27 years old Mohbad.
Expatiating his points, Okey Bakassi pointed out that a gang group, in the United States of America, allegedly consumed Tupac Amaru Shakur, also known by his stage names 2Pac and Makaveli, an American rapper, widely considered one of the most influential and successful rappers of all time.
He however stressed that in this clime, celebrities try to live “exaggerated” life which conceals the realities of the depressions they go through.
“It takes Mohbad’s death for Nigerians to discover the real dirty in the entertainment industry, ” he stated.
He explained further that Nigerians have glamorized the use of drugs and celebrated drug addicts. “No action was taken. We all feel cool with it. Now the bubble has burst” he said.
