Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos Is Now One
OpenLife Nigeria reports that in the past few weeks, eulogies have been pouring on Chief Azuta Mbata, President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide and Senator Martin Agbaso, the Grand Patron, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos over the role the duo played in restoring peace in the Lagos chapter of the apex Igbo socio cultural organization.
In this brief chat, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos harps on the intelligence deployed by Chief Mbata, his Enugu National Executive Committee NEC members and Senator Martin Agbaso to resolve the crises.

Thank you for congratulating us for the peace that has returned to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos. Well, these were individual efforts.
Different people played different roles.
The members of NEC who accompanied Chief Azuta Mbata, the President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide to Lagos and Senator Martin Agbaso, the Grand Patron of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos who has been secretly sponsoring the activities of Ohanaeze Ndigbo since 2009 till date without asking for accolade made the peacefully resolution of the crises possible.
But we give all the glory to God.
The reason why the crises lingered for so many years is because Senator Martin Agbaso stepped aside because of the character of some Igbo leaders who claim to be more superior because of their personal profile which no Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos member has benefited till date.
They are only interested in themselves and their biological children. Even if you are related to them, they are not interested.
But the fueling of the crises of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos by these so called leaders got escalated so much so that Senator Martin Agbaso had to step in to make peace.
They were doing that just to promote their different clubs above Ohanaeze Ndigbo which is the parent body of any Igbo association all over the world.
It is just like someone having a biological son before his father. That is what these so called leaders tried to achieve and I stood against it. That was my offence in Lagos as Ohanaeze Ndigbo President.
Now, our good leaders have realized that and the crise are over. It is irreversible. The peace in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos has come to stay especially from Chief Azuta Mbata which no personal profile can intimidate. Rather, his profile will intimidate you.
The same thing applies to the Grand Patron of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, Senator Martin Agbaso.
What Senator Martin Agbaso did is what leadership is all about. It is about the interest you have in your people.
What Ndigbo suffered for some years was lack of leadership before God gave us Senator Azuta Mbata, his deputy, Chief Okey Ikedinobi and the secretary general, His Excellency, Emeka Sibeudu.
What Ndigbo need to do now is to support these three wise men in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide including the Grand Patron of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, Senator Martin Agbaso.
This is the first time that the opposition group was called together with the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos to hear from both sides about the cause of the crises.
That was the only way the crises could be resolved and it has been resolved. We now have one Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos.
Now that the crises have been put to rest, what is next?
I have set up an electoral committee as directed by NEC in Enugu to conduct an election so that I will hand over in April 2026.
The language the leadership of the illegal structure was using to fuel the crises was that Chief Solomon does not want to relinquish power. They were using that to extort money from people on the pretence of using it to go to court.
But I am not like that. I am ready to handover after the election has been conducted and new executives elected.
The electoral committee chairman , Chief Oliver Akubueze {Mmiri} and his members are working tirelessly to deliver on their assignment.
Like I said before, the electoral committee chairman will soon come up with the electoral guild line.
I have confidence in the electoral committee because it is made up of people who know the history of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and have been there for decades. Example are Chief Oliver Akubueze, the electoral committee chairman and Ichie Anselm Njoku {Anatu Anatu.}
They are vibrant leaders and will always deliver. All the positions are open and available for Ohanaeze Ndigbo financial members to contest.
I will not stop thanking the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Azuta Mbata and the Grand Patron of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, Senator Martin Agbaso for standing on the truth and ensuring that Ohanaeze Ndigbo achieve everlasting peace.
