Ogun Assembly speeds up MAUSTEC bill, demands Council ‘State of Affairs’

&NewLine;<p>Moshood Abiola&NewLine;University of Science and Technology Amendment Law&comma; 2019- A Bill for a Law to&NewLine;Amend the Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology&comma; 2017 has scaled&NewLine;through first reading before the Ogun State House of Assembly&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The bill was read for&NewLine;the first time &nbsp&semi;by the Deputy Clerk of the Assembly&comma; Mr&period; Deji Adeyemo&comma;&NewLine;before the lawmakers at a plenary presided over by the Speaker&comma; Rt&period; Hon&period;&NewLine;Olakunle Oluomo at the Assembly Complex&comma; Oke-Mosan Abeokuta&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;The first&NewLine;reading was consequent upon the acknowledgement of the State Governor&comma; Prince&NewLine;Dapo Abiodun&&num;8217&semi;s correspondence dated 18th of July 2019&comma; communicating the&NewLine;amended bill to the Assembly&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>&&num;8221&semi; I forward&NewLine;herewith a bill for a law to amend the Moshood Abiola University of Science and&NewLine;Technology Law&comma; 2017 for the kind consideration and passage of the House of&NewLine;Assembly&&num;8221&semi;&comma; the letter partly reads&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Meanwhile&comma; in its bid&NewLine;to take further actions on the suspension of Local Government political office&NewLine;holders done by the eight Assembly&comma; the Assembly Speaker has directed all the&NewLine;&nbsp&semi;Heads of Local Government Administration &nbsp&semi;&lpar;HOLGA&rpar; in all Local&NewLine;Government Councils and Local Council Development Areas in the State to submit&NewLine;a &&num;8216&semi;State of Affairs report&&num;8221&semi; before Thursday&comma; 25th of July 2019&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Oluomo&comma; who made the&NewLine;announcement explained that the report was to be coordinated by the Permanent&NewLine;Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs&comma; with&NewLine;&nbsp&semi;Council Chairmen in the Ogun East Senatorial District expected to appear&NewLine;before the Assembly on Monday&comma; 5th August&comma; 2019 while their counterparts from&NewLine;the Ogun West Senatorial District are to take their turn on 12th August&comma; 2019&NewLine;and those &nbsp&semi;from Ogun Central are to come on 19th of August&comma; 2019&NewLine;respectively&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>In another&NewLine;development&comma; a member representing Yewa North I&comma; Hon Adeyanju Adegoke laid a&NewLine;petition on behalf of Igbogila Central Community Association calling for the&NewLine;immediate completion of MDGs Primary Health Centre project cited at Igbogila&NewLine;before the House of Assembly&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>According to Adeyanju&comma;&NewLine;the abandoned project which was being handled by Dasir International Resources&NewLine;LTD&comma; had been an hideout for hoodlums and a death trap for residents of the&NewLine;community&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
