Ogun 1st Lady becomes NGGA Patron, advocates moral discipline for Girl-Child

The Wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun has charged Non-Governmental Organizations,  (NGO) body of socio cultural groups to begin instilling moral discipline and cultural values in Young Girls and ladies through trainings and symposium that will address various ills affecting the society and prepare every Girl-Child for leadership.

She made this known during a meeting with Nigerian Girl Guides Association of Nigeria and Family Planning Health Organization that paid her a courtesy visit in her Iperu – Remo office,  Ogun State.

  State Commissioner of Nigerian Girl Guides Association, (NGGA) Ogun State Chapter, Mrs Modupe Alaba who led the team of Girl Guides,  congratulated the first lady and her husband on the successful transition to power and further stated that the courtesy-familiarisation meeting became imperative to intimate the Wife of the Governor of the activities of Girl Guides Association, centred on value based programme through training of girl-child for leadership, serving as strong advocate Against Gender based Violence and preparing girl child as valuable asset for nation building. 

‘As the Voice of Nigerian Girls World Wide, Nigerian Girl Guides Association is established to mould characters of young women and Girl Child for positive adulthood and good moral development, training girls from local, State, National and International Camping programs.

While soliciting for a more mutual support and relationship from the office of the Modupe Alaba further expresses satisfaction and confidence in the leadership and attention received from the Wife of Governor since she took over as number one woman in the state. 

 Modupe however, informed  the NGO’s intention to nominate and decorate Wife of the Governor as State Patron; an automatic position prepared and allocated to the wife of the State Governor’.

Reacting to their request,  Mrs Bamidele Abiodun first, accepted NGGA nomination to be decorated and described the nomination ‘honorary’ – a rare privilege. ‘This is a responsibility I hold to dear as an ambassador and strong advocate of Girls right and values’. Nothing appeals more and fundamental to me as the moral values and trainings for every Girl-child in the state. As a Mother, I have always maintained that girl-child welfare and trainings are two eccentric rights from parents to their wards. It’s an honor to join mothers and Girl Guides advocates here today in Ogun to help nurture our Girls to stardom and leadership. 

 She added that I gladly accept the responsibility, and you can be sure of my support and the government of Ogun State. I am interested in training, instilling moral values; fundamental guiding principle every mothers and parents should uphold.

She was immediately decorated and inducted as State Patron of Nigerian Girls Guide Association, Ogun State Chapter. While thanking the organization for the honor, The First Lady assured the NGGA delegates of a fruitful relationship and patronage from her office. 

 Further more,In another meeting, Family Health Care Initiative had visited also to familiarize and sought for government interventions in areas of vaccines and maternal and Child support. In their words, family health initiative is an organisation saddled and passionate about family planning for maternal and child care. 

The FHI further urged the First lady to put words unbehalf of the organization to all Local government to domesticate consumables health accessories which is believed will reduce challenges of health care hazards in the society.

 Mrs Abiodun assured the health care organization of her office support to begin health awareness in all local government, and open campaign for family health services. ‘Maternal and Child health is as important as every other focuses. We shall partner with Family Health Initiative to support every intervention that will guarantee the well-being of every family, she added
