<p><strong>A former Minister of Education, <a href="http://OpenLife.ng">Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili</a>, has been given an international appointment.</strong></p>
<p>The former Minister is now a member of the Board of Directors of Nexford University, Washington D.C., United States.</p>
<p>This was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the online university.</p>
<p>The university said the former minister’s appointment was due to her deep experience in creating sustainable value and driving strategy in the education sector.</p>
<p>Ezekwesili was appointed alongside other education experts and industry leaders, such as the Ex-McKinsey Senior Partner, Driek Desmet.</p>
<p>The school pointed to the track records and proven leadership in the strategy of Oby Ezekwesili and the others as the reason for the appointments.</p>
<p><em><strong>“They also follow Nexford’s successful $10.8m pre-Series A in June 2021 and a major partnership with Sterling Bank, one of Nigeria’s largest commercial banks, in August 2021</strong></em>,” it added.</p>
<p>The Chief Executive Officer of Nexford University, Fadl Al Tarzi, said,<em><strong> “We are delighted to welcome Driek and Oby to the board.”</strong></em></p>
<p>Tarzi pointed out that the deep experience of Oby Ezekwesili in creating long-term value, driving strategy and knowledge of the education sector will be invaluable to the next stage of Nexford’s growth journey.</p>
<p>On her part, Ezekwesili said,</p>

<p>Oby Ezekwesili is the coordinator of the Bring Back Our Girl, BBOG, campaign, a group that came into existence after over 100 schoolgirls were abducted from their boarding school in Chibok, Borno State, in 2014 by members of the Boko haram terrorist group.</p>
