Oby Ezekwesili gets new appointment

<p><strong>A former Minister of Education&comma; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;OpenLife&period;ng">Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili<&sol;a>&comma; has been given an international appointment&period;<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The former Minister is now a member of the Board of Directors of Nexford University&comma; Washington D&period;C&period;&comma; United States&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>This was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the online university&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The university said the former minister’s appointment was due to her deep experience in creating sustainable value and driving strategy in the education sector&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Ezekwesili was appointed alongside other education experts and industry leaders&comma; such as the Ex-McKinsey Senior Partner&comma; Driek Desmet&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The school pointed to the track records and proven leadership in the strategy of Oby Ezekwesili and the others as the reason for the appointments&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;They also follow Nexford’s successful &dollar;10&period;8m pre-Series A in June 2021 and a major partnership with Sterling Bank&comma; one of Nigeria’s largest commercial banks&comma; in August 2021<&sol;strong><&sol;em>&comma;” it added&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Chief Executive Officer of Nexford University&comma; Fadl Al Tarzi&comma; said&comma;<em><strong> &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;We are delighted to welcome Driek and Oby to the board&period;”<&sol;strong><&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Tarzi pointed out that the deep experience of Oby Ezekwesili in creating long-term value&comma; driving strategy and knowledge of the education sector will be invaluable to the next stage of Nexford’s growth journey&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>On her part&comma; Ezekwesili said&comma;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em><strong>&&num;8220&semi;They also follow Nexford’s successful &dollar;10&period;8m pre-Series A in June 2021 and a major partnership with Sterling Bank&comma; one of Nigeria’s largest commercial banks&comma; in August 2021&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;strong><&sol;em>&comma; she said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Oby Ezekwesili is the coordinator of the Bring Back Our Girl&comma; BBOG&comma; campaign&comma; a group that came into existence after over 100 schoolgirls were abducted from their boarding school in Chibok&comma; Borno State&comma; in 2014 by members of the Boko haram terrorist group&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
