Obi Exposes Nigeria’s Deadliest Deceit

OpenLife News reports that the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Mr Peter Obi, has described as a “terrible lie from the pit of hell” the claim by the Federal Government that it does not know where kidnappers and terrorists operate from in Nigeria.

Obi stated this while addressing a congregation in a church, in a video that has now gone viral.

The video, which is being shared with the caption “I will never get tired of asking people to vote Mr Peter Obi. We need clarity,” shows Obi speaking on insecurity, corruption and the cost of governance.

Full Transcript of What Obi Said

“Kidnappers kidnap people in this time and age, take them to the bush, stay there with them for one month, feeding them, phoning their family to come and bring money.

“Often times, if the person is sick, the kidnappers bring in medical doctors to come and treat the person and go back, but the police don’t know where they are.

“The only person who doesn’t know where they are is the police. But doctors know where they are, they will go and treat the person if you are sick. So they wait.

“At this time and age, that if you make a phone call, everybody knows where you are. They are using phone, they are negotiating with the families, and the families are telling police that they called this morning, but they don’t know where they are.

“This is the confusion we want to stop. This is what we want to stop. We want to stop people from stealing public money.

“They will tell you no, you can’t stop corruption and nonsense. We know those who took the money.
“It is the easiest thing, you can fight corruption. Of all sorts of things, we want to cut down the cost of governance. It is totally unacceptable. You make somebody governor, he becomes the richest person in the state.

“In any country where politicians or those in government are richer than business people, the place has failed.”
“Professors in the university are suffering, nobody is negotiating with them, we are negotiating with bandits.

“Corruption kills three things a society lives on. It kills entrepreneurship, it kills professionalism and hard work.

“You are negotiating with bandits but you can’t sit down with university professors and you want them to continue to do research and be able to find solutions to what is happening in society.

“Why won’t I become a bandit and negotiate with government? That is the crisis you face.
“So my dear people, with you we can solve this…”

Commentary by Mr. Zekeri Idris Jnr., Director of New Media, National Campaign Council of the Nigerian Democratic Congress

Zekeri Idris Jnr, who overlaid the video with a campaign poster of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, added his own analysis to the footage.

“This is the man who wants to take over from Tinubu explaining his thoughts on what insecurity is all about,” the narrator said.

“I have also insisted that the government cannot convince me that a kidnapping and a violent crime happens anywhere in Nigeria that government cannot account or cannot take charge and deal with it decisively.

“Yes, there are bad actors everywhere but there is nowhere on earth where the kind of crime happening in Nigeria can happen and then the government will claim not to know why it has happened and how it has happened.

It is not happening anywhere. If 100 dogs are picked up in Germany, in Canada, in Australia, in France, in the United Kingdom, in the United States of America, even in South Africa, even in Ghana, 100 dogs are kidnapped, the government will be under serious pressure to return those animals back.

“But in our country Nigeria, 100 human beings, 50 human beings, 200 human beings… Do you know the logistical implication of moving 200 persons?

“A Toyota Hiace bus that you know, only carries 16 persons, the kind of bus that goes from Lagos to Benin, carries 16 passengers, and then terrorists will come, move 200 persons, 100 persons, 50 persons.

“Do you know the logistical implication? An airplane, the airplane you enter, some carry 80, 90, the big ones carry 120, the very big ones carry 200.

“And you convey that number of persons. The terrorist will convey them in a bush, put them in a bush, feed them in a bush, treat them in a bush, take care of them in a bush, negotiate ransom from a bush and your government will say they don’t know where they are.

“It is a terrible lie from the pit of hell.”

The video, however, has sparked fresh debate online about Nigeria’s insecurity crisis and the government’s handling of mass abductions.
