OpenLife Nigeria reports that the simmering online feud between Very Dark Man (VDM) and socialite King Mitchy (Mukoro Michelle) just got a shocking twist as the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, officially denied ever exchanging WhatsApp messages with the influencer.
The controversy erupted when King Mitchy shared a screenshot of a supposed conversation with the monarch, where he allegedly praised her social media activities.
VDM had swiftly used the alleged chat to lash out at the Ooni, highlighting the irony that while he bows to the traditional ruler, the Ooni seemed to “bow” to King Mitchy online.
However, the palace has now intervened to set the record straight. Oba Omotoyosi Bayo Akinyele took to X to confirm that he spoke with the Ooni regarding the claims.
According to him, the monarch described the allegations as false and misleading, warning the public not to give credence to King Mitchy’s claims.
The denial has intensified the drama, as the social media feud, which reportedly started with King Mitchy targeting VDM over school renovation projects, had already gone viral.
Celebrities and online users quickly weighed in, with reactions ranging from shock to ridicule, fueling the firestorm further.
VDM’s original comments, where he criticized King Mitchy for allegedly “degrading” the Ooni and contrasted him with other traditional rulers like the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, are now being revisited in light of the Ooni’s denial.
Many users are questioning the authenticity of the screenshots, while others have doubled down on the influencer’s claims.
As the feud continues to dominate timelines, the saga has become one of the hottest social media controversies in Nigeria, leaving fans and critics watching closely to see who will strike next.
