Nuhu Ribadu, NSA, Makes Public His Two Heroes
OpenLife Nigeria reports that in a rare disclosure, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the newly appointed National Security Adviser, NSA, has made public his heroes.
Ribabu, a retired Police officer, hails from Adamawa State, north eastern geo political zone of Nigeria.
Making the disclosure on Monday during the take over ceremony from the former NSA, Mohammed Babagana Monguno, Ribadu re confirmed his commitment to his new assignment saying he is grateful “For the rare privilege to serve this great nation again.
He however pointed out two people he considers as his heroes who, at one time or the other, shaped his life.
Ribabu wrote:
As I assume office today, I reminisce on the burden we carry in the pursuit of public service. To underscore the weight of the moment I decided to wear priceless gifts from those who have shaped my life: a babar riga and shoes from the late Dr. Mahmud Tukur and a cap gifted me by late Inspector General of Police,IGP, Ibrahim Coomassie; two extraordinary patriots and mentors.
Over time, we realize that we are shaped by our upbringing and experiences and by those icons we idolize. However, what sets us apart is not only the lessons we learnt but our ability to practise what we’ve learned. I am grateful for the heroes I have chosen and for the rare privilege to serve this great nation again.
