Nollywood Star Ireti Doyle Overcomes Fear of Dogs, Becomes Proud Dog Mom
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle has revealed her surprising transformation from a lifelong fear of dogs to becoming a devoted dog owner.
Sharing photos with her pets, Doyle admitted that as a child, she would go to great lengths to avoid dogs, regardless of their size.
“Growing up I was scared witless of dogs. Big, small, it didn’t matter. I would gladly take a long & convoluted path just to avoid a dog,” she confessed.
Her journey to embracing dogs began with her daughter, who spent ten years pleading for a puppy. Once the first puppy arrived, Ireti’s love for dogs quickly grew, leading the family to welcome another within the same year.
“It took ten years of begging and negotiations for my daughter to get a puppy… within the same year, we got another – at my instance.
Today, not only am I a bona fide dog lover/owner… I’m really good friends with a Cane Corso & a German Shepherd…” Doyle shared.
Reflecting on her personal growth, the actress emphasized that change is always possible, encouraging her fans to embrace transformation in their own lives.
“Who says change is impossible?
Happy New Year, happy new month and everything in between… hope 2026 is being kind to you and you’re being kind to others.
May we all continue to land. Softly.”
Ireti Doyle’s story is a heartwarming reminder that fears can be overcome, and bonds can be built even with the most unexpected companions.
Her journey from anxiety to affection shows that love, patience, and openness can transform our lives and our relationships with animals.
