OpenLife reports that Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has sparked reactions online following socialite Yhemo Lee’s recent Instagram video about hickeys.
A hickey, otherwise called “love bite, ” is a temporary bruise-like mark caused by biting or sucking the skin, usually on the neck or arm, which breaks small blood vessels.
It is a form of passionate affection, generally lasting 5-10 days.
In his post, Yhemo Lee urged young people to exercise caution when engaging in love bites, warning that not everyone reacts safely.
He explained, “I know that we are in a new generation, which is fantastic. And youths like to explore to do things that are different from back in the day.
I want you to know that you need to do a background check before you allow your partners to give you a hickey.
There are people with a history of madness in their family; if you allow such a bite on your neck. One of my friends in the University almost lost his oesophagus and intestines to it. A word is enough for the wise.”
Debbie Shokoya, however, expressed disbelief at the trend, admitting she can’t relate. She shared, “I had to go on Google after seeing @yhemo_lee’s video.
Mi o understand o! Una go nack finish, still con bite unaself join. E be like say I no dey woke o! I can’t relate. As In…Koyemi. E Tun Ge Ara Yin Je Ni? After The Whole Primary Assignment, Una Still Dey Hickey Abi Wetin Una Dey Call Am. E Be Like Say Na Only Me No Fit Relate.”
Clearly, Debbie Shokoya isn’t on board with the hickey craze.
Her reaction is sparking laughs, debates, and relatable discussions online, proving that not everyone is ready to jump on every new trend.
