“No Beef!” Fathia Explodes As Bloggers Twist Funke Akindele’s Birthday Greeting
OpenLife Nigeria reports that Yoruba actress and filmmaker Fathia Balogun, widely known as Fathia Williams, has come down hard on bloggers accused of twisting her birthday exchange with Funke Akindele into a non-existent feud.
Fathia, who marked her birthday on February 5 alongside her ex-husband Saidi Balogun, received heartfelt messages from colleagues across the industry.
One of them was from Funke Akindele a simple gesture that quickly snowballed into online gossip after bloggers tagged her response as “awkward.”
Refusing to let the narrative slide, Fathia addressed the issue during a live video, firmly stating that there is “no beef” between her and the box-office powerhouse.
She revealed that Funke reached out warmly and respectfully, adding that her reply, “Ose Iya Ibeji” meaning “thank you, mother of twins” was completely misread.
Visibly displeased, the actress accused bloggers of deliberately manufacturing tension, warning them to stop inserting themselves into her personal and professional relationships.
She described the rumours as intrusive, misleading, and driven purely by a hunger for engagement.
The fresh clarification
reopened memories of a 2024 misunderstanding, when Funke reportedly unfollowed Fathia over missed event appearances.
Both actresses, however, resolved their differences in December 2025, a fact Fathia believes should have ended all speculation until bloggers reignited it.
