Nnamdi Kanu: How We Will Surprise Nigerians On November 6—Ezeife

a former governor of the State on the platform of the Social Democratic Party&comma; Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife has alerted Nigerians that there will be surprises on November 6 &comma; the day fixed for the election&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The elder statesman mad this disclosure in Abuja on Thursday during the re-arraingment of the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra&comma; IPOB&comma; Nnamdi Kanu&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Security agents have barricaded the Federal High Court Abuja&comma; ahead of the scheduled trial of <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;vanguardngr&period;com&sol;">Kanu<&sol;a> who is expected to take a fresh plea before trial Justice Binta Nyako&comma; on an amended seven-count charge bordering on incitement&comma; treasonable felony and terrorism&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Ezeife who was barred by the heavily armed security operatives from entering the courtroom&comma;alongside other Igbo chiefs admonished public office holders to exercise moderation in the use of power against perceived enemies of the state saying &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;All powers belong to God&period; Let all of us pray to God&period; It is a sense of duty that brought us here&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;People at home&comma; don’t be annoyed&period; We will surprise Nigerians on November 6&comma;” Ezeife vowed&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;FG had in the mended charge marked FHC&sol;ABJ&sol;CR&sol;383&sol;2015&comma; which was signed by a team of government lawyers led by the Director&comma; Public Prosecution of the Federation&comma; Mr&period; M&period; B&period; Abubakar&comma; alleged that Kanu had in furtherance of an act of terrorism&comma; issued a deadly threat that anyone that flouted his sit-at-home order should write his or her will&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;FG alleged that as a result of Kanu’s directive&comma; banks&comma; schools&comma; markets&comma; shopping malls&comma; fuel stations were not opened for businesses&comma; with vehicular movements grounded in the South East region of the country&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;It said the action amounted to an offence contrary to and punishable under 1&lpar;2&rpar; &lpar;b&rpar; of the Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act&comma; 2013&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;FG alleged that Kanu had &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;on or about the 28th April&comma; 2015 in London&comma; United Kingdom did in a broadcast on Radio Biafra monitored in Enugu&comma; Enugu state and other parts of Nigeria within the jurisdiction of this honourable court&comma; referred to Major General Muhammadu Buhari&comma; GCON&comma; President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a paedophile&comma; a terrorist&comma; an idiot and an embodiment of evil&comma; knowing same to be false and you thereby committed an offence contrary to section 375 of the Criminal Code Act&comma; Cap C&period; 38 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria&comma; 2004”&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;He was alleged to have committed treasonable felony&comma; an offence punishable under Section 41&lpar;C&rpar; of the Criminal Code Act&comma; CAP C38 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria<br &sol;>&NewLine;He was alleged to had between 2018 and 2021&comma; through Radio Biafra&comma; professed to be a member of IPOB&comma; a proscribed organization in Nigeria&comma; and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 16 of the Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act&comma; 2013&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;In count five of the charge&comma; FG alleged that Nnamdi <strong>Kanu<&sol;strong> had on April 22&comma; 2021&comma; in London&comma; United Kingdom&comma; on Radio Biafra monitored in Enugu and other parts of Nigeria&comma; did an act of terrorism &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;in that you incite the other members &lpar;followers&rpar; of the Indegenious People of Biafra &lpar;IPOB&rpar;&comma; a proscribed organization in Nigeria&comma; to look for security personnel&comma; their family members through a Radio Biafra on 102&period;1FM monitored through the IPOB Community Radio&comma; and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 1 &lpar;2&rpar; &lpar;h&rpar; of the Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act&comma; 2013&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;FG lined up five witnesses to testify in the matter&comma; among whom are officials of the Department of State Service&comma; DSS&comma; and one Ronald S&period; who was identified as the manager of a Hotel in Lagos&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;FG had on July 26&comma; failed to produce the embattled IPOB leader in court despite heavy security that was also mounted around the court’s vicinity&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Both the IPOB and apex Igbo socio-cultural group&comma; Ohaneze Ndigbo&comma; had earlier urged FG to ensure Kanu’s presence in court today&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;

Nollywood Actress, Shine Rosman, Raises Alarm Over Alleged Sexual Harassment In Lagos OpenLife reports that Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has spoken about what she describes as ongoing incidents of sexual harassment affecting women in parts of Lagos, particularly in Yaba. She said the issue is widely known among residents but remains unaddressed. “Do you know how bad sexual harrssment is in Lagos? Like go to Yaba, as a girl and see how you will be touched inappropriately. Everybody hearing this knows that it is true. But till today, nothing is being done about it.” She described what she claims are repeated incidents of inappropriate contact in public spaces without consequences for those responsible. “You’re walking in Yaba and people are touching you inappropriately and nothing will happen.” Rosman questioned the absence of effective intervention and raised concerns about personal safety in such environments. “If the government is not going to do anything, is it not ok for us to defend ourselves? In 2026, in a country like Nigeria, s+xual har+ssment is still one of the most passive things.” She also raised concerns about the implications of such behaviour occurring in open public spaces. “If a man can s+xually h+rass you casually during the day, what do you think he can do behind closed doors when no one is looking?”. The comments were made during an interview with Tolu Afilaka, where she discussed women’s safety in public areas of Lagos.
