Nigeria’s Next President—Obasanjo

<h4>Nigeria&&num;8217&semi;s Next President<&sol;h4>&NewLine;<p>OpenLife Nigeria reports that former President Olusegun Obasanjo has enumerated the qualities Nigerians should look out for in chosing the next President&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>According to the former President&comma; Nigeria needs a passionate and visionary leader that can steer the boat of the country to the promised land&comma; which devoid of greed&comma; non-challant and unpatriotic elements&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Obasanjo made this known while playing host to the delegates of National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies&comma; Kuru&comma; &lpar;NIPSS&rpar;&comma; Senior Executive 44&comma; group 7&comma; who visited the Former President Nigerian President&comma; on a study tour to Ogun State&comma; on the way out to Nigerian problem and how to strengthen local governance&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He said Nigerian should look out and seek for good Presidential candidate&comma; who has a good intentions for Nigeria masses&comma; saying a visionary&comma; courageous and brilliant leader who would not shy away of tackling corruption and banditry is Nigerian needed now&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;Indeed&comma; Nigeria is secular state&comma; which is very difficult to governing but with courageous and visionary leader&comma; we will take the bull by the horns in tackling our problem&comma; you see&comma; when you are able to do ordinary things that others is not able to do then you will do extraordinary person&&num;8221&semi;&comma; he said<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The former president further stated that Nigeria is created by God and to be a leading county&comma; especially in African continent&comma; but collectively everyone needs to make it happen through focus&comma; determination&comma; commitment and visionary leaders&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He further reteirated that local government is the closest tiers of government to the people&comma; which must have all the paraphernalia of good governance in its legislation&comma; function&comma; resources to fund itself and also means of providing security&comma; provision of basic services to the people as these would guaranteed the reform local government system&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The ex president refer to NIPSS as an avenue for acquiring education&comma; teaching and learning&comma; saying participants should be given more years to impart their wealth of experience before they were retired&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Earlier&comma; the Director General of the Institute&comma; Prof&period; Ayo Omotayo who led the participants on the visit said meeting with the icon is a rear privilege&comma; thereby enjoined them not to only tap but fetch bucket from his wealth of experience&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
