OpenLife Nigeria reports that the Vice Prime Minister cum Minister of Foreign Affairs, Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC, Dr Zenon Mukongo Ngay, has said that they want to launch series of investigations into the activities of a spiritual organization, brotherhood of the Cross and Star, founded by a renowned Nigerian spiritual leader which is about to re-establish presence in their country.
The vice minister said the organisation and its membership even in his country look strange and astonishing.
He told a delegation of the organization from the Nigerian headquarters in Calabar led by Ambassador Dr Amah Williams of Akwa Ibom State University which paid courtesy call on him and other government officials though they were pleased to receive them yet they will study them, if found genuine would collaborate extensively.
“The message of peace and unification you have brought to us is so powerful, yet we are going to carry out spiritual and physical investigation about your organisation. We will get back to you upon conclusion of our investigations.
“You people are unbelievably astonishing. ”
To aid in their investigations, he collected contact numbers of the team members, and promised that the Government of DRC will support them at the end of the investigation.
Meanwhile, the presence of the delegation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kinshasa, the DRC national capital, attracted a lot of attention and caused a stir.
Many of the Congolese followed the Nigerians all about the streets. Some who were not scared took their pictures and asked questions.
